While we all want to look our best, maintaining our appearance can be pretty expensive, particularly when it comes to good hair care.
The good news is, there are lots of things you can do to ensure that your hair always looks amazing without paying a premium for it…
Get it cut at college
If your cut demands regular attention for a hairdresser, you could well be paying £50+ every month at the hairdressers which is a fair chunk, I’m sure you’ll agree. One thing you can do to cut that down significantly is to have your hair cut by trainee hairdressing students at a local college. Prices there start from free, although it is more common that you’ll need to pay a small fee, and the results can be surprisingly good.
Tattoo bald patches
If you have bald patches and you are not happy about it you could go for a hair transplant. However, they are very expensive, or you could try extensions, but again they require a lot of work and maintenance which makes them a really expensive option too. A good alternative then is scalp micropigmentation treatment. What is Scalp Micropigmentation treatment? Basically, it is tattooing areas of the scalp where hair loss has occurred so that it blends in with your hair colour and, therefore, does not appear to be bald at all.
Use a leave-in conditioner
If you use a leave-in conditioner, you can definitely save money on other hair care products because, not only does it smooth out your hair, but it helps to get rid of tangles and kinks. It keeps your scalp well moisturised and prevents your hair from splitting. This means you don’t need to buy all of those serums and salves that you otherwise might. It does, however, mean you should invest in the best leave-in conditioner you can afford because you want to maximise its potential on your hair.
Touch-up your own roots
These days, you can get some really excellent root touch-up kits. Using them means you can go a bit longer between salon sessions. As a result, you can save a good few pounds over the course of a year. And because it’s just your roots, if anything does go wrong, it won’t be a big deal and you can just go to your next salon appointment as normal.
Wash your own hair
If you wash your own hair before hitting the salon, the staff will not need to do it before cutting. Not only can you save a little money, but you will also spend less time at the hairdressers. Most salons will be fine with you doing this so don’t worry.
Maintaining a great looking, healthy head of hair, as you can see, does not have to cost you a fortune. Making a few simple changes to your hair care routine is all you need to do if you want to save money and also have the hair of your dreams.
